New Hampshire residents will be best served by electing Scott Brown to the Senate.

When Shaheen was campaigning for the Senate in 2008, she accused incumbent Republican Sen. John E. Sununu of voting the wishes of President George W. Bush. Having won her Senate seat on a promise of independence, Shaheen soon found it expedient not to exercise any independent thought at all, voting the Democratic Party line in lockstep with President Obama.

Unquestioning support of the Obama administration by Shaheen and her fellow Democrats has turned the Environmental Protection Agency into an enforcer of mandates that the president could not get through Congress. The result has increased our dependence on natural gas -- in short supply in New England winters -- for power generation. Once again, the middle class will pay the price with electricity rates set to skyrocket 40 to 50 percent this winter.

By contrast, Brown was an independent, bipartisan voice during his short term in Washington.

In his next term in the Senate, Brown wants to work for lower taxes for the middle class and for policy that ease the crushing burden of regulations on businesses to help create jobs. Brown wants to secure our southern border and work to streamline legal immigration. Recently retired as a colonel in the Army National Guard, Brown has always been a strong advocate for veterans…

 …

Brown will serve the people of New Hampshire well. We encourage voters to elect him on Nov. 4.
