NRSC - Four Ways Shaheen has let down Granite Staters

Good morning –

In 2008, Jeanne Shaheen made lofty promises to the people of New Hampshire.

Ahead of today’s debate, here are at least four ways Shaheen has let down Granite Staters:

1. PARTISANSHIP

Claim: Shaheen criticized her Republican Senate opponent, John E. Sununu, for voting with President Bush 90 percent of the time.

Reality: In 2013, Sen. Shaheen voted with President Obama 99 percent of the time!

2. HEALTH CARE

Claim: She campaigned on passing health care reform, promising to increase access to health care and lower costs.

Reality: Because of ObamaCare — which Shaheen supported — 22,000 Granite Staters received health insurance cancellation noticesShe's admitted that some New Hampshire residents have lost access to their doctors.

3. IRAQ

Claim: She denounced her opponent's foreign policy and called for pulling out of Iraq.

Reality: In the Senate, Shaheen has backed Obama's failed handling of Iraq.

4. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Claim: She campaigned on fiscal responsibility.

Reality: Under President Obama and Senator Shaheen, the national debt has risen $7 trillion dollars.
