Brown For US Senate - BROWN CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES ONLINE PETITION CALLING ON SHAHEEN TO REMOVE HER FALSE & NEGATIVE ATTACK AD

MANCHESTER - Today, the Brown campaign launched a new online petition calling on Senator Shaheen to take down her dishonest negative attack ad. The petition comes on the heels of Scott Brown’s press conference yesterday where he called the ad “despicable.”

“Scott Brown is a pro-choice independent Republican who has a strong record of supporting women's health care,” said Communications Director Elizabeth Guyton. “Senator Shaheen has resorted to running a smear campaign to distract voters from her own record supporting President Obama and his failed policies 99 percent of the time.  It is shameful that she is playing politics with women, and the people of New Hampshire will not be fooled by her dirty smear campaign."

Yesterday, Brown recalled a childhood marred by domestic violence and “protecting women since my mom was being beaten, at 5 years old, when I came to her rescue.”  As a senator, he was a lead Republican sponsor of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and voted against cuts to Planned Parenthood.  Brown was also one of the only Republicans to vote for Senator Shaheen’s amendment that would have protected women service members who had been victims of sexual assault.
