Brown For US Senate - VIETNAM VETERAN PAUL CHEVALIER: JEANNE SHAHEEN "INSULTED" OUR MILITARY

MANCHESTER - Today, retired Marine Corps Sergeant Major Paul Chevalier released the following statement objecting to Senator Shaheen's claim that our military is an "occupying force."

"As a marine who served in Vietnam, I am insulted by Senator Shaheen's mischaracterization that our military is an 'occupying force.'  Make no mistake, thanks to the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform, the United States has been able to liberate thousands of people across the world--offering stability that would not be possible without our help.  For those of us who lost our brothers in arms and sacrificed life and limb to fulfill our duty, her reference is offensive.  Scott Brown served 35 years in the Army National Guard and has the military experience to understand the needs of our troops and their families.  We need his leadership in Washington to support the safety and security of our nation."

During Thursday's debate, Scott Brown corrected Senator Shaheen's position, explaining that our military is a "liberating force" and pointing to the sacrifice our veterans have made to defend our nation at home and abroad.
