Rep Elect Guinta Makes First Two Hires for Congressional Staff

Today, Congressman-Elect Frank Guinta announced he has hired Jay Ruais to serve as his Chief of Staff and Sean Thomas to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Ruais brings a wealth of New Hampshire political and legislative experience to the position. Most recently, he served as Mr. Guinta's campaign manager after having been a field manager in his 2010 race, and a Legislative Aide in Congressman Guinta's Washington DC office. A Salem native, Ruais received his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and a Masters of Public Administration from American University.

Thomas served four years as Chief of Staff to then Mayor Frank Guinta and continued his service as Director of Constituent Services for Congressman Guinta from 2011-2012. A long time resident of Downtown Manchester, Thomas serves as a Board Member of New Horizons for New Hampshire, is a parishioner at St. Raphael Parish in Manchester and was recognized in 2009 as one of New Hampshire's 40 Under Forty. Thomas is a 1992 graduate of St. Anselm College and has been a New Hampshire Republican activist since 1995 when he began working for former Manchester Mayor Raymond Wieczorek.

Ethan Zorfas, who previously served as Congressman Guinta's Chief of Staff and as a General Consultant on his prior Congressional races, will stay on as a political advisor to Congressman Guinta.

Frank Guinta released the following statement:

"I am pleased to announce that Sean and Jay will be joining my Congressional staff. Their deep knowledge of the District and the needs of Granite Staters will be invaluable to my Washington and in state staff. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the 114th Congress to enact policies that strengthen the middle class, protect and preserve our entitlement programs while reducing our debt and deficit."
