Stop Obamacare's Medicaid expansion in New Hampshire

This week, we launched a radio ad and other grassroots efforts to try and stop Senate Bill 413, Obamacare's Medicaid expansion in New Hampshire. Click HERE to listen to the radio ad. Our efforts were reported in WMUR's Political Scoop, which you can read HERE

While we agree with the majority in the State Senate on many issues, their decision to possibly side with liberals and implement Obamacare's Medicaid expansion in New Hampshire is not one of them. We were pleased to have their support last year when conservative voices unanimously rejected a similar bill, but we are disappointed that some look to be going a different course this session.

The Heritage Foundation says Obamacare's Medicaid expansion will cost New Hampshire taxpayers $126 million more. What's worse, the expansion will increase emergency room usage by 40%, meaning longer wait times and even higher costs for Granite State families. We are prepared to work hard over the coming days and possibly weeks to inform Granite Staters about the dangers of SB 413 and encourage them to let their State Senator know why they oppose it. If passed, the implications of this bill on New Hampshire families are too real and too drastic not to.

We do regret to report that on Wednesday, the bill was approved in committee with a vote of 4-1. Senator Andy Sanborn was the only State Senator in the committee to vote "no," and we thank him for his opposition. While the committee vote was disappointing, be assured that our fight is no where near over as the most important vote is the one cast by the full State Senate, which will likely been in the next couple of weeks.

Please click HERE for your State Senator's contact information and tell him or her to vote "no" on SB 413. Then, have your friends and family call their State Senators as well.

Our "Breakfast Briefing" with Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz was a big success

On Thursday, we were proud to host Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz at the Airport Diner in Manchester for a "Breakfast Briefing."

As a leading voice on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Congressman Chaffetz spoke about the attack in Benghazi, "Fast and Furious scandal, and more with a room full of engaged Granite Staters.

If you were unable to make it, you can read more about the event in Friday's Union Leader by clicking HERE.

Fighting against an attempt to raise the "Gas Tax" in New Hampshire

On Tuesday, our Executive Director, Matthew Murphy, testified in Concord in opposition to Senate Bill 367, which would increase the "Gas Tax" in New Hampshire.

This proposed tax increase would hurt real Granite State families and put more burdens on our state's small businesses. Please click HERE to watch Matthew Murphy's testimony. Then, contact your State Senator and tell him or her to oppose Senate Bull 367. You can click HERE to find your State Senator's contact information.

Senator Shaheen continues to hide from Granite Staters
For well over a year, Senator Jeanne Shaheen has been hiding from Granite Staters and has refused to host a single public town hall meeting. Instead, she has been hiding behind scripted and screened tele-town hall meetings.

In contrast, while our state's senior senator continues to hide from her vote for a failing Obamacare, our state's junior senator, Senator Kelly Ayotte, actually held two traditional town hall meetings in northern New Hampshire this week alone.
We continue to call on Senator Shaheen to stop hiding and applaud Senator Ayotte for her willingness to engage with her constituents in a real town hall meeting.  In the meantime, considering it is the only way for Granite Staters to voice their displeasure with Senator Shaheen for supporting disastrous liberal policies such as a failing Obamacare, we entourage you to sign-up for her next tele-town hall meeting. It will be on Wednesday, February 26th at 6:00 pm.

To participate, Senator Shaheen's office says you must sign-up HERE by Tuesday, February 25th. If you are able to get through her office's screening process and lucky enough to ask her a question, be sure to ask why she continues to hide from New Hampshire residents and refuses to hold real town hall meetings with those she has sworn an oath to represent.
Laugh of the week
Here's some humor for your Friday. Have a great weekend, Granite Staters!
