SNHU - Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneural Challenge

4th Annual Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneurship Challenge

Entrepreneurs with exemplary business ideas are invited to submit their concept papers in the 4th Annual Tory C. Marandos Foundation – Entrepreneurship Challenge being administered by the Center for Women’s Business Advancement beginning today.

All active businesses and potential start-up businesses in New Hampshire, with less than three years in business, are eligible to participate. This year’s competition will see interested entrepreneurs submit a two-page initial business concept paper by March 14. After the submission deadline, a team of judges will choose ten semi-finalists to move on to the next round where business plans will be requested. A group of ten semi-finalists will be determined by April 4, five finalists will be announced by May 23 and the final competition and award dinner will take place on June 7.

The winning business plan will receive $5,000 as well as four hours of consulting services from Brayman, Houle, Keating & Albright, PLLC, $1500 in legal services from Devine Millimet Attorneys at Law and membership in the “A-Ha!” Tribe, a thriving growth, success and mastermind social media community established by Epiphanies, Inc. A $2,000 second prize will be awarded through the generous funding by the family of Jacques Thibodeau in his loving memory. There will also be $500 prize for the third, fourth and fifth runners up.

The competition is named after late entrepreneur Tory Marandos. According to his family, friends and co-workers, he was an enterprising and caring young man who went above and beyond for his friends, family and anyone who came into his life.

Last year, Creative Chefs Kitchen, a Derry, NH-based food incubator offering entrepreneurs a commercial kitchen rental space, captured top honors in the competition. Breathe Esthetics, a day spa located in Concord, NH, was the second prize winner.
