Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter received national attention this week for her hypocritical suggestion to President Obama that those responsible for the failures of Obamacare should “tender their resignation”. When she recognized this would ruffle the feathers of her friends in Washington, D.C. her office quickly released a statement attempting to save face. While she is in a different Congress, she’s up to her same old tricks.
After questions surrounding her comments arose, a House Democratic aide stated, “she (Shea-Porter) did not call for at the meeting, and is not generally calling for, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign or be fired.”
While those responsible for this health care disaster should be fired, including those who voted for Obamacare, the Congresswoman should be concerned with caring for the 22,000 Granite Staters who have lost their health insurance. Or how about the 2.5 million Americans who would otherwise be employed in the next decade were it not for this legislation?
It is clear that Congresswoman Shea-Porter is far too concerned with her standing in Washington, and would rather continue playing politics than work to fix our broken health care system. A system that is hurting thousands of NH residents and millions around the country.
It is time for change. We need leadership that will stand up for New Hampshire and pass sensible legislation that is good for Granite Staters. Visit our website, www.teamguinta.com and join our team. Together we will make a difference this fall.
