NH DEMS STATEMENT ON GOVERNOR HASSAN'S STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

Concord – New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley released the following statement following Governor Maggie Hassan's State of the State address today.

"Governor Hassan presented a strong and innovative vision for an even stronger New Hampshire economy. Under her leadership over the past year, our Governor has prioritized growing the middle class by freezing instate tuition costs, supporting small businesses to help create good jobs by doubling the research and development tax credit, and approaching our state’s most pressing challenges with bipartisan cooperation and commonsense solutions.

"Today she announced a new call for action and made clear her hard work from the last twelve months will continue.  Governor Hassan remains focused on building a strong workforce and helping businesses create good jobs. The Governor is going to strengthen the financial security of our working families, eliminate pay disparities, and put money back in the pockets of consumers by restoring and increasing the state minimum wage and by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act.  And she's taking on our most pressing challenges by building consensus to solve problems.
"With Governor Hassan's steady leadership, we will continue to be one of the safest, healthiest, and most livable states in the nation, our New Hampshire advantage will remain protected, and civility and cooperation will continue in Concord."
