NHDP - The NHGOP is Lauding A Failed CEO Who Killed Hundreds of NH Jobs

Concord -- This afternoon, the Republican State Committee proudly announced former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as their keynote speaker at the party's weekend fundraiser.  NHGOP Chair Jennifer Horn called her "an accomplished businesswoman and a strong conservative." But when Fiorina was CEO, HP killed hundreds of New Hampshire jobs.

"Why is the NHGOP inviting, elevating and praising a failed CEO whose company killed hundreds of New Hampshire jobs?" asked New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley.  "Fiorina's record is an economic disaster. She laid off New Hampshire workers, shipped thousands of American jobs overseas, and tripled her own salary – getting a golden parachute before HP fired her. Only the out of touch NHGOP would be caught touting the failed economic policies of the past that wrecked the economy and undermined the middle class as a path for the future."

In New Hampshire, hundreds of workers lost their jobs during Fiorina's tenure in multiple waves of layoffs.  Between firing 180 Granite State workers in 2004 and another 50 in 2003, Fiorina callously  told Congress that, "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore."
Fiorina was ousted as Chairwoman and Chief Executive of Hewlett Packard in 2005.  During her six year tenure, Fiorina's own salary tripled while thousands of jobs were shipped overseas and HP's stock price plummeted.

"The NHGOP wants to profit off Fiorina, just like Fiorina profited off the loss of hundreds of New Hampshire jobs," continued Buckley.  "Shame on any New Hampshire Republican candidate who plays along with this irresponsible scheme and appears at this weekend's fundraiser with her. They will have to answer to the Granite Staters she fired."
