NHDP - State House Votes to Expands Health Care Coverage to 50,000 New Hampshire Families

Concord, NH—Today, the New Hampshire House passed SB 413 with a bipartisan vote of 202-132, expanding Medicaid to thousands of families in New Hampshire. In response, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley released the following statement.

“Today’s bipartisan passage of Medicaid Expansion in the House is a tremendous step forward for our state, and will improve the lives of 58,000 Granite Staters,” said Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley.  “Governor Hassan and Democratic leaders in both the Senate and House have worked tirelessly to reach a compromise that puts the well-being of Granite Staters above partisanship. Because of this compromise, which Republican Senate President Chuck Morse praised as ‘a New Hampshire solution,’ thousands of our state’s citizens will no longer have to battle illness and bankruptcy at the same time.  It is deeply troubling that Washington Republicans still want to kill the Affordable Care Act and deny access to affordable health insurance to thousands of families in New Hampshire.”

Also this week, Minuteman Health announced that they plan to expand into the New Hampshire insurance market, ensuring more health care options for families across the state.
