WTO Rules against China’s Export Restrictions: Implications for U.S. NatGas Export Debate

The World Trade Organization (WTO) confirmed Wednesday that China’s policies restricting exports of rare-earth minerals violate global trade rules. In light of the WTO ruling, the quantitative restrictions on liquefied natural gas exports advocated by Dow Chemical, America’s Energy Advantage (AEA), and the American Public Gas Association (APGA) are plainly illegal.
