NH GOP - SHAHEEN KEYSTONE OPPOSITION DRIVEN BY BLIND ALLEGIANCE TO OBAMA

Concord - Politico yesterday reported that Senate Democrats are negotiating a vote to approve the bipartisan Keystone XL pipeline "as soon as next week." Despite broad support from labor unions, business groups, ratepayers and even fellow Senate Democrats, Senator Jeanne Shaheen has stood with President Obama in opposition to this commonsense energy project.

"Senator Jeanne Shaheen's persistent opposition to the bipartisan Keystone XL pipeline is another example of her willingness to stand with President Obama 99 percent of the time instead of standing up for New Hampshire. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has blindly followed orders from the president and liberal special interest groups to oppose this commonsense project," said NHGOP Chairman Jennifer Horn. "Senator Shaheen continues to thumb her nose at New Hampshire's tradition of independent leadership and march in lockstep with President Obama and his failed agenda. She is reminding Granite Staters why we need to replace her with a responsible Republican senator in November who will stand up for good jobs and affordable energy."

Shaheen recently traveled to California to meet with Tom Steyer, a radical billionaire environmentalist who has been called "California's hedge fund king." Politico reports that Steyer has pledged to spend $100 million dollars on outside money to support senators like Jeanne Shaheen who agree to follow his orders to block the Keystone XL pipeline.
