Concord, NH – Senate President Chuck Morse and Democratic Leader Sylvia Larsen released the following statement today on the tragedy in Brentwood that took the life of Officer Stephen Arkell:

“On behalf of the State Senate, we extend our sympathies, thoughts, and prayers to Officer Arkell’s family, friends, and the entire Brentwood Police Department.  Monday evening’s tragic and senseless incident was yet another reminder of the dangers faced by our state’s public safety officers day in and day out as they work to keep our families and our communities safe.

“We stand ready with Governor Hassan and our state’s law enforcement community to honor Officer Arkell’s service and memory in the days ahead while also looking towards healing for the residents of Brentwood and the State of New Hampshire in mourning following this tragedy.”
