Margaritas Mexican Restaurant Sponsors Ensemble at Prescott Park Arts Festival

Portsmouth, NH – Let the fiesta begin! Margaritas Mexican Restaurant and Prescott Park Arts Festival are teaming up to bring you the music for the signature event of the summer - Shrek, The Musical.

“Margaritas is known for bringing food, fun and excitement to the communities they serve,” said Ben Anderson, Executive Director of Prescott Park Arts Festival.  “We couldn’t be happier to have Margaritas support the ensemble bringing the musical color underpinning our signature event of the season.”

“Supporting the arts and the communities that we serve is an extremely important part of the Margaritas culture.  The summertime events at Prescott Park are some of the best entertainment in the Seacoast area and we are very proud to be a part of it,” said Hugo Marin, Margaritas President.

Shrek, The Musical will open on Friday, June 27 and continue every Thursday through Sunday until August 24. Directed by Billy Butler and based on the Oscar winning DreamWorks film that started it all, Shrek, The Musical will bring the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the Wilcox Industries Mainstage this summer. Full of all-new songs, incredible dancing and breathtaking scenery, Shrek, The Musical is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone.

“Shrek is such a great musical for Prescott Park,” said Anderson. “I couldn’t be more excited to bring the fairytale land of Far Far Away to the Seacoast. It has an excellent storyline and message, captivating music, is well-loved by kids and packed with great humor for adults. It is going to be a very fun summer.”

Since 1974, Prescott Park Arts Festival has inspired and delighted over 3.75 million people with over 10,000 productions and presentations.  The non-profit Festival has committed 40 years to providing financially accessible, quality multi-arts festival productions to a diverse audience. A recent study by the Americans for the Arts revealed that the Prescott Park Arts Festival has an annual impact of over $7 million on the local economy.

The signature musical performances presented by C&J Bus Lines on the Wilcox Industries Mainstage are a jewel in the lineup of another exciting season of entertainment in Prescott Park featuring a variety of events including The River House Restaurant Concert Series, movie series, Shakespeare in Prescott Park, food festivals and more. All events are free and open to the public with a suggested $5 - $10 donation.
