Rubens For US Senate - Statement on Memorial Day Remembrances

Jim Rubens, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, released the following statement remembering the sacrifices made for which the nation pauses to honor today:

"Today is a day that we all take moment to pause and honor the sacrifices that our nation's heroes gave in defense of freedom at home and across the world.  In dedicating the Battlefield at Gettysburg, President Lincoln spoke of the 'Last Full Measure of Devotion', 'that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain'.  Since those days of war on our home soil and as Decoration Day became known as Memorial Day, let us resolve to remember and honor the sacrifices of our American heroes.  Grave sites and monuments erected throughout the world serve as a testament of the American people to solemnly remember from Arlington National Cemetery to Pearl Harbor, England, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Philippines and on town commons all across New Hampshire.  May we also remember in our thoughts and prayers those who are serving in harm's way today."
