Garcia For Congress - EPA’s new proposed restrictions will cost New England billions

SALEM, NH– Marilinda Garcia, Republican candidate for New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District, released the following statement regarding the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s report on the EPA’s newly proposed regulatory regime, which is “based on the Obama Administration’s emissions reduction goals.”

“New Hampshire families and small businesses are already feeling the effects of higher energy costs due to the harmful and overbearing environmental policies put forth by Washington liberals like President Obama and Rep. Ann Kuster. This proposal will not only compound our existing problems by raising our already sky-high electricity costs by $600 million each year, but will also cost the New England region’s economy $2.7 billion annually and eliminate almost 5,000 jobs in the north east.

Rep. Ann Kuster must demand an end to these harmful, job-killing policies and stop walking in lock-step with President Obama on energy issues. It’s time that our elected officials defend our hardworking families and individuals, and put New Hampshire first.”
