Brown For US Senate - AROUND TOWN WITH SCOTT BROWN - THIS WEEK: MAKING ENERGY AFFORDABLE

Good Afternoon,

This week, the Brown campaign continued its focus on “Making Energy Affordable” and discussing Scott Brown’s all-of-the-above approach to lowering costs and increasing supply, without a new national energy tax like the one supported by Senator Shaheen.

As Brown wrote in a guest op-ed in this morning’s New Hampshire Union Leader, “Senator Shaheen’s energy tax would have a disastrous effect on our economy, and cause rate increases that hurt families and small businesses alike.”

We were also focused on building our grassroots support across New Hampshire. We announced our County Chairs on Wednesday, and the campaign also began its organizational meetings to build the team that will lead us to victory in the fall.

At these meetings, campaign staff talks with local volunteers and supporters about the best ways to help, including knocking on doors, phone banking and getting the vote out. Last week, we had great interest in these events from supporters who are eager to help Scott achieve victory.

Also, we’re continuing to run phone banks every Monday through Thursday night from 6-8 PM at our campaign headquarters in Manchester. Making phone calls is a great way to spread Scott's positive message and we need your help.

Gail on the Trail

Gail Huff, Scott's wife, also hit the campaign trail this week in a big way as part of her "Serving New Hampshire Together," tour. On Monday, she visited Cross Roads homeless shelter in Portsmouth and discussed the work they do to help the local community. Tuesday, she went to Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and heard about the programs they have to help those that have trouble paying their heating and electric bills. Finally, she went to Wolfeboro on Thursday and held an roundtable to hear concerns from homeowners about how the high cost of energy is impacting their financial decisions.
