Brown Releases Higher Education Policy To Create More Opportunities, Reduce Cost Of College

MANCHESTER – Today, Scott Brown introduced a higher education policy to create more opportunities for young people entering the workforce and reduce the high cost of a college education.

"My plan will cut costs at the campus level, help women succeed in the science and technology field, provide pathways for non-college bound students and reform federal financial aid," said Brown.  "I want all our young people in good-paying jobs, not only those who attend college, but also those who go directly into the workplace after high school. No one wants to be unemployed, or stuck in a job that is beneath their skill level."

This week, he will take his policy on the trail to kick-off the "Making Higher Education Work" tour to discuss these commonsense initiatives with young people and families across New Hampshire.  Brown's plan is set to reduce costs and promote more job opportunities through a variety of proposals, such as ending excessive annual tuition hikes, increasing participation in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and reforming the federal financial aid system.
