Jim Rubens, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, extended an apology to Governor Mitt Romney for a statement issued earlier today:
"I apologize to Governor Romney for implying that he endorsed Scott Brown because Brown voted for Romneycare as a Massachusetts state senator. My choice of words was poor. Inadvertent or not, this is beneath me. I believe that Governor Romney's endorsement is genuine, and not motivated by any sort of quid pro quo arrangement.
"Scott Brown's support of Romneycare, which was the model for Obamacare, is one of many examples of Scott Brown supporting government takeover of healthcare. Brown wants to grandfather parts of Obamacare. He also supports Medicaid expansion in New Hampshire which will be funded by printed and borrowed money, driving our nation deeper into debt and creating 50,000 new government dependents. When the federal government renegs on its promise to pay for Medicaid expansion, the state of New Hampshire will be stuck with the tab forcing us into an income tax.
"Scott Brown's actions show that he is not prepared for the tough fight ahead that is repealing and replacing Obamacare."
