Marine Corps veteran and advocate brings extensive experience to growing team
The Jim Rubens for U.S. Senate campaign announced today that Richard Brothers has been named Veterans Coalition Director. Brothers' extensive experience working on veterans issues adds a powerful component to the campaign's effort to address a variety of issues affecting veterans.
Brothers is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. As a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, Richard served as the chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee and has testified before Congress on veterans employment issues. He has served as an advisor on veterans issues for the campaigns of John McCain, George W. Bush, Craig Benson, and Charlie Bass.
For many years, Brothers worked to aid and support New Hampshire's homeless veterans and has tackled a variety of healthcare and employment issues for veterans.
"I have known Jim Rubens for many years, his selfless devotion to the people of New Hampshire and in particular those who have served in the defense of our country is well known," said Brothers. "It's an honor to be a part of his team as he works to become New Hampshire's next U.S. Senator. I can think of no stronger advocate for the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces than Jim Rubens."
Rubens says, "It's great to have Richard on board to help me build on our already strong support among New Hampshire's 130,000 vets. I want to be certain that veterans and veterans' issues such as VA healthcare, Second Amendment rights, strong national defense and global military strategy will be front and center in this election and after."
