Rubens For US Senate - Bring American Jobs Back: Jim Rubens Releases Six Point Jobs Plan

Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Jim Rubens today released his six point jobs plan to bring good-paying jobs back on American soil.

"The recession has not yet ended for far too many Americans," Rubens said.  "Seven trillion dollars in new federal debt under the Shaheen/Obama debt-fueled “recovery” has fattened up Wall Street, but has left American families stuck between stagnant wages and the rising cost of living. One-in-eight adults are unemployed, underemployed, or have given up looking for work. The percentage of Americans working in the civilian labor force is at a 36 year low and continues to drop like a stone.  Inflation-adjusted incomes for the typical household have dropped by six percent since Shaheen/Obama took their offices in January, 2009."

Jim Rubens Jobs Plan

Jim Rubens’ number one economic priority is to bring the good-paying jobs back to American soil.

The recession has not yet ended for far too many Americans.  Seven trillion dollars in new federal debt under the Shaheen/Obama debt-fueled “recovery” has fattened up Wall Street, but has left American families stuck between stagnant wages and the rising cost of living. One-in-eight adults are unemployed, underemployed, or have given up looking for work. The percentage of Americans working in the civilian labor force is at a 36 year low and continues to drop like a stone.  Inflation-adjusted incomes for the typical household have dropped by six percent since Shaheen/Obama took their offices in January, 2009.

My six point plan to restore economic growth, domestic manufacturing and good-paying jobs:

1.       Tax reform. Reform our absurdly complex corporate and personal tax codes, making them simpler, fairer, and flatter, removing crony-capitalist loopholes to reduce rates. We must reduce our highest in the world corporate tax rate and reduce tax rates on offshore corporate earnings so that American companies are encouraged to invest, create jobs and pay dividends in the USA. The wave of reverse-mergers of American with Irish companies exemplifies the problem with our high corporate tax rates.

2.       Reduce regulation. Reduce stifling, hyper-complex regulatory burdens such as those under Obamacare and Dodd-Frank which are hurting New Hampshire’s small business economy. One approach is to require that all regulations be reviewed by Congress every ten years to assure that any regulation needed to protect public health and safety is consistent with statutory purpose, measurably cost-effective, and not redundant. Between the years 2000 and 2011, economic freedom in the United States has dropped from 3rd to 17th in the world, leaving us less free than Finland, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Denmark.

3.       Affordable, abundant, clean energy. Eliminate all federal energy subsidies and mandates so that entrepreneurs focus on inventing and commercializing low-cost energy sources and technologies, rather than on market-distorting subsidies, tax loopholes and supply mandates.

4.       Reduce healthcare costs. America’s highest in the world healthcare costs drive jobs offshore. We must repeal Obamacare and replace it with solutions allowing healthcare innovation, consumer choice, and market reforms to reduce costs, improve quality, health outcomes, and patient access.

5.       Protect the American dollar. Spiraling government debt and deficit spending risk a collapse in the value of our currency or replacement of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. A stable dollar encourages domestic capital investment. Since 1971, when President Nixon ended convertibility of the dollar to gold, the dollar has lost 83 percent of its value, discouraging prudent saving and investment in low-risk, domestic assets.

6.       Jobs for American citizens. Build a fence along the entire US-Mexico border. No amnesty. Jobs should be reserved for American citizens and those legally eligible to work here.
