NH Senators Respond to Hassan Veto of SB 391- Juvenile Justice Reform

The New Hampshire Senate

Republican Majority Office

Concord, NH – Senators Sharon Carson (R-Londonderry) and David Boutin (R-Hooksett) issued the following statements following Governor Maggie Hassan’s veto of SB 391, the Juvenile Justice Reform bill:

Senator Sharon Carson- “The Governor wants to replace the hard work of the Legislature with an Executive Order, and paper over the structural problems in New Hampshire’s juvenile justice system. I urge my House and Senate colleagues to stand by our overwhelming bipartisan support for SB 391 in overriding the Governor’s veto.”

Senator David Boutin- “The Legislature spent the past year addressing the problems facing our juvenile justice system. SB 391 would bring accountability to an agency that is failing our state’s most at-risk children.”

Senators Carson and Boutin are sponsors of SB 391.
