Statement of Sen. Sharon Carson on Veto of Healthy Workplace Bill

The New Hampshire Senate

Republican Majority Office

Senator Sharon Carson (R-Londonderry) issued the following statement following Governor Hassan’s veto of HB 591, the Healthy Workplace Bill:

“The Healthy Workplace Bill was the result of 18 months of hard work by Republicans and Democrats in the House and the Senate to address the growing problem of abusive work environments in state government. Our state employees deserve the same protections from abuse in the workplace as private sector workers, but the Hassan Administration has failed to adequately address the many instances of such abuse over the past several years. It’s unfortunate that Governor Hassan continues to oppose this carefully crafted bipartisan solution, and I would urge my colleagues to override this veto.”
