NHDP - Granite State Forward Hosts Senior-to-Senior Phone Banks Across Granite State on Medicare Anniversary

As Medicare Turns 49, Volunteers Contacted Voters To Remind Them That Democrats Across The State Are Fighting To Protect Medicare and Social Security

Manchester, NH – Yesterday, the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign, Granite State Forward, hosted several successful senior-to-senior phone bank events across the state in honor of the 49th anniversary of Medicare.
The phone banks featured New Hampshire seniors calling up other seniors to discuss what is at stake in the upcoming election, like preserving Social Security and Medicare and keeping health care and prescription drug costs down. Participants also generated support for Democratic candidates, including Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Governor Maggie Hassan, Congresswomen Annie Kuster and Carol Shea-Porter and the rest of the Democratic ticket.

“I want to help to ensure that we elect leaders with a proven record of protecting Medicare and Social Security so our seniors can retire with dignity and security,” said Barbara J. Jones, Enfield, 68. “That’s why I’m here today calling up my friends and neighbors and telling them why we should re-elect Senator Shaheen, because she and others are standing up for New Hampshire seniors and are committed to preserving Social Security and Medicare.”
