Garcia For Congress (CD2) - Politifact Gives Gary Lambert a “Pants on Fire” Rating for False Claim

Concord, NH – Kenny Cunningham, communications director for Marilinda Garcia for Congress, released the following statement regarding New Hampshire Politifact’s “Pants on Fire” ruling regarding Gary Lambert’s recent claims about Marilinda Garcia’s position on taxes.

NH Politifact’s ruling is further proof that Gary Lambert has resorted to Obama-style tactics in his desperate quest to resurrect his failing congressional campaign," said Cunningham. "In fact, Obama and he share a special bond—they are the only two people ever to tell lies so bold that NH Politifact issued them a “Pants on Fire” ruling.  Throughout this race the Lambert campaign has made false, often bizarre allegations about Marilinda.  This most recent negative attack takes the cake—that tax reform and a lowering of the corporate tax rate would somehow increase taxes.

The truth is, Marilinda Garcia supports an economic plan that flattens, simplifies, and lowers the tax burden on businesses, and eliminates harmful and job-killing loopholes.  By opposing Marilinda’s tax reform principles, Gary Lambert has made it clear he supports corporate loopholes, and is not above distorting his opponent’s record to protect corporate cronyism.”
