BROWN RELEASES WEB VIDEO ON ISIS, CALLS ON CONGRESS TO PASS LEGISLATION TO PROTECT U.S. FROM ISIS-AMERICAN FIGHTERS
MANCHESTER - As United States intelligence reports indicate that as many 300 Americans are fighting alongside ISIS in Iraq and Syria, Scott Brown today called on Congress to immediately pass legislation that would strip homegrown terrorists of their American citizenship. The campaign also released a new web video on the growing threat of ISIS, and the need to stop them.
In 2010, Brown introduced the bipartisan Terrorist Expatriation Act, which would revoke the citizenship of those “providing material support or resources to a Foreign Terrorist Organization” or “actively engaging” in “hostilities against the United States or its allies.” In 2011, he introduced another similar piece of legislation called the Enemy Expatriation Act.
“One of the greatest threats facing the homeland today is the mayhem that will happen when hundreds of American ISIS fighters return to the United States to spread their terror here. Their goal is to march down Pennsylvania Avenue and plant a flag at the White House, and mass killing is their means for achieving that goal. That's why Congress needs to pass legislation that would strip the citizenship of any American who joins a foreign terrorist organization. We need to keep our country safe by stopping these American ISIS fighters from re-entering the country."
The new web video, titled “Reestablish America,” features highlights of Brown’s recent foreign policy-focused town hall with Arizona Senator John McCain. In the video, Brown, who recently retired as a colonel after 35 years in the Army National Guard, criticizes the Obama Administration’s “incoherent” foreign policy, saying “our friends don’t trust us and our foes don’t fear us.”

TRANSCRIPT - "Reestablish America":
Scott Brown: Right now we have a situation with ISIS
ISIS makes al-Qaeda look like Boy Scouts
What is the goal of ISIS
It’s to actually get their own country
Get the resources as they are doing
And export terrorism around the region and the world
You look at what’s happening, as Kelly referenced in the Ukraine with Russia
You see what’s happening in Israel
Being attacked and harassed daily by Hamas
There are so many issues on the table right now that are affecting our foreign policy
We have one of the most incoherent foreign policies right now
And our allies don’t trust us
And our foes don’t fear or respect us
We’re in trouble and we have a real problem
The best answer is to take back the Senate, reestablish that trust, get our fiscal house in order and reestablish the trust with our allies
