Stay Work Play Adds Seven New Board Members

Manchester —Stay Work Play, a New Hampshire nonprofit organization to encourage more 20 and 30 somethings to stay, work and play in the state after graduation, has welcomed seven new members to its Board of Directors: ANDREW B. PALUMBO, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management & Director of Admissions, Plymouth State University; CARMEN LORENTZ, Director, NH Division of Economic Development; E.J. POWERS, Executive Vice President, Montagne Communications; KRISTYN VAN OSTERN, Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer, Community College System of New Hampshire; MARK M. BROWN, Director of Corporate Potential, Grappone Automotive Group MELINDA TREADWELL, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Antioch University New England; and TRAVIS YORK, President & CEO, GYK Antler.

The new board members believe in Stay Work Play’s mission and recognize New Hampshire as a great place for recent college graduates to launch their careers and their lives.

"Working at Plymouth State University has opened my eyes to the amazing opportunity that New Hampshire students have - right here in their backyard - to gain a world-class education, prepare themselves for rewarding careers, and build the foundation for the lifestyle that they wish to have,” commented Andrew B. Palumbo.  “I believe that Stay Work Play’s focus on connecting young professionals and recent college graduates to the desirable careers and lifestyles that exist throughout the state plays an important part in illustrating just how great living, working, and playing in New Hampshire truly is."

Mark M. Brown also praised New Hampshire for the opportunities that are present, “One of the things I most like about New Hampshire is the connectivity of the people. We're small enough that a dedicated group of people really can make a positive difference. Stay Work Play brings together an amazing cross roads of people--business and non-profit leaders, governmental officials, and our best and brightest young professionals--all committed to the common purpose of promoting New Hampshire as a great place to stay, work & play!”

Kristyn Van Ostern believes in New Hampshire because, “it’s the best state to grow up in; the best state to stay in or come to find creative work and educational opportunities; and the best state to play with my kids, husband, dog, family, and friends in.”

"A low cost of living, no sales or income tax, proximity to lakes, mountains, the ocean and major cities plus low crime rates and solid educational options make NH the perfect place to run a business while still having the opportunity to make a global impact," mentioned Travis York.

“I love the spirit of New Hampshire! We are creative and eager to contribute in a positive way to our communities and our state,” Carmen Lorentz commented. “Stay Work Play is a wonderful manifestation of that spirit. I’m excited to be part of Stay Work Play’s efforts to make our state a more outstanding place for young people to thrive and find opportunity.”

“The future of New Hampshire's economy relies on our ability to attract and retain young talent. We are competing with 49 other states for this demographic and we must use every resource at our disposal to highlight the numerous advantages New Hampshire has to offer,” E.J. Powers stated. “I am proud to join Stay Work Play in this critical effort.”

With the commitment and passion that the board members have for New Hampshire and Stay Work Play, the organization is delighted to welcome them to the Board of Directors.
