CSNH Poll: Scott Brown takes the lead in the race for U.S. Senate

On behalf of Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire, Magellan Strategies released the results of our second New Hampshire statewide survey on Monday. The automated survey of 2,214 likely voters has a margin of error of +/- 2.0% and was conducted September 10-11, 2014.

Highlights from the poll included the following:

  • Scott Brown leads Jeanne Shaheen by almost 2 points (45.9% Brown/44.3% Shaheen/9.8% undecided) in the U.S. Senate race.
  • Terrorism and border security now trump Obamacare as the most important issues Granite Staters are concerned about.
  • President Obama's job approval dropped 3 points from our last poll in July.

  • Republicans have a 10 point lead on the generic ballot.

New Microsite: Why are they hiding?

On Wednesday, Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire launched a new microsite at WhyAreTheyHiding.comThe site focuses on the failed votes and policy positions Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Governor Maggie Hassan, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), and Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) have taken, and highlights them as a reason for why the four aforementioned elected officials are hiding from Granite Staters with their refusal to hold public Town Hall meetings.

Who can blame them though? Under their watch, Obamacare is collapsing. Our foreign policy is failing. Our porous southern and northern borders are open to both terrorists and illegal immigrants. While taxes increase, our debt and deficits are skyrocketing. However, it is still no excuse for refusing to meet with your constituents.

Last month, Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire also launched a smaller site and a web video focusing solely on Senator Jeanne Shaheen's record., which will be an offshoot of the organization's main website,, is being backed with a significant, state-wide, online advertisement buy, which will be used to educate countless New Hampshire residents about the lack of honesty and transparency they are receiving from their elected officials.  However, to reach more Granite Staters with our message, we need your help.

Keystone Pipeline: Jeanne Shaheen still opposes it
Today (Friday) is the six year anniversary of the first application to build the Keystone pipeline.

Due to Senator Jeanne Shaheen's liberal positions and loyalty to billionaire enviornmental extremist Tom Steyer, she has consistently voted "NO" on a plan that would give America energy security and thousands of shovel ready jobs. That's wrong.

No Town Halls: The media continues to take notice
With all of our elected officials except Senator Kelly Ayote refusing to hold public forums with their constituents, the lack of New Hampshire Town Hall meetings continued to be a major issue this week. had a great write-up this week on Congresswoman Annie Kuster's refusal to hold a single Town Hall meeting with her constituents.

The article references several letters to the editor where Congresswoman's Kuster's constituents have taken to their local newspapers to call on her to stop refusing to meet with them. The author also included one of Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire's web videos where the congresswoman, her staff, and her supporters rudely respond to questions about why she will not hold a public forum.

Also this week, the infamous man dressed as a chicken who has been following Jeanne Shaheen around New Hampshire reminding Granite Staters that their senator refuses to hold Town Hall meetings, made the front page of the Wall Street Journal.

Considering Maggie Hassan, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, and Congresswoman Annie Kuster should all be in New Hampshire next week, we continue to call on them to stop hiding, and meet with their constituents. Granite Staters deserve better than the cold shoulder these four aforementioned elected officials continue to give them.
