NHDP - Brown Doubles Down on Vote To Protect $21 Billion in Taxpayer Subsidies for Big Oil

After Brown’s Vote, He Collected Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in Campaign Donations From Big Oil

Manchester, NH—Scott Brown is doubling down on his allegiance to Big Oil. Last night he defended his votes to protect $21 billion in subsidies to the Big Oil companies, the most profitable companies on the planet, even saying that he'd "do it again," proving that Brown will continue to put Big Oil first—not New Hampshire families.
"Scott Brown will continue to put the Big Oil companies first—he said it. He votes to protect Big Oil taxpayer subsidies, and they pay him back with millions in campaign contributions. Meanwhile, the only thing people in New Hampshire get are higher gas prices and energy bills,” said New Hampshire Democratic Party Communications Director Julie McClain. “The Big Oil companies want Brown back in Washington working for them, so they’re spending millions of dollars to do it. That’s good for Big Oil and good for Scott Brown, but wrong for New Hampshire.”
McClain added, “If Scott Brown has his way, Big Oil will get more tax breaks while middle-class families in New Hampshire pay the price. Brown is only out for the out-of-state special interests that are trying to buy him another Senate seat—not New Hampshire families.”

Scott Brown: Did I vote to protect motorists from having gas prices rise to 7, 8, 9 dollars a gallon – absolutely. And I would do it again.
