MANCHESTER - Today, former State Senator and Marine Corps veteran Gary Lambert endorsed Scott Brown:
“New Hampshire needs a true leader who will support our troops and restore a stronger America. After the success of the surge, we had won the war in Iraq. All that remained was to secure the peace. But President Obama acted precipitously in withdrawing all our troops, without leaving behind a sufficient number to work with the Iraqi security forces, and the country dissolved into chaos. Jeanne Shaheen should have spoken up at the time, like Scott Brown did, but she quietly went along with President Obama. Like many who served in Iraq, I feel betrayed.
"Scott Brown has military experience and understands the needs of our service-members, veterans and their families who deserve to be taken care of well after they complete the mission. Right now, Jeanne Shaheen is supporting President Obama and his failed polices 99 percent of the time. I support Scott Brown because we need someone to challenge President Obama when he is wrong, not someone who will just rubber stamp his bad decisions."
Gary Lambert was recently a candidate for New Hampshire’s 2nd congressional district and will serve as honorary chairman for the “Veterans for Brown” coalition. He is a 35-year veteran of the Marine Corps, an Iraq War veteran and a Bronze Star Medal recipient. During his time in Iraq, Lambert was the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate to the Commanding General of Multi-National Force-Iraq. On June 1, 2014, Lambert retired from the Marine Corps as a Colonel.
