Manchester, NH – New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement this evening on the Republican gubernatorial primary debate:
“Tonight's debate proved, once again, why failed CEO Walt Havenstein and his Koch Brothers agenda would be a disaster for middle class families and take New Hampshire's economy backwards.
"Havenstein constantly ducked his record of mismanagement at SAIC that saw the company's stock plummet 32 percent as they lost millions of dollars and shed 5,000 jobs - all while Havenstein made $20 million for himself.
"He doubled down on his misguided 'plan' that would cost the state budget $90 million to give more tax breaks to big businesses, taking New Hampshire back to the Bill O'Brien budget that made devastating cuts to education, health care, and social services. And Havenstein continued trying to have it both ways on health care issues, despite the fact that he signed the Koch Brothers pledge that calls for repealing health coverage for 50,000 hard-working Granite Staters.
"Havenstein's Koch Brothers agenda and his mismanagement that drove SAIC into the ground while he lined his own pockets prove that he puts his own interests first, no matter who it hurts. New Hampshire voters know that Havenstein simply can't be trusted to look out for Granite State priorities."
