In Case You Missed It:
Portsmouth Herald: Vote For Brown And Stiles In N.H. GOP Primary
Editorial, Portsmouth Herald
September 7, 2014
Scott Brown is by far the strongest and most compelling Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Tuesday's primary and he has earned the endorsement of the Seacoast Media Group editorial board.
All candidates claim they'll work with the opposing party, but Scott Brown has proven his willingness to do so. While in the Senate, Brown not only bucked party politics he also took on some of Congress's most corrupt practices, including granting itself the legal right to trade on non-public inside information. Brown and New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand sponsored and passed a bill that mandated members of Congress and their families live by the same rules as everyone else in America and not use insider knowledge gleaned from their professional position to get rich.
When President Obama signed the bill in 2012, he hailed it as an example of what bipartisanship can accomplish.
Brown's personal story is compelling. Despite growing up in a dysfunctional and sometimes abusive household, he went to Tufts University and Boston College Law School. He served honorably in the National Guard JAG Corps, retiring this May as a colonel after 35 years. He is a lawyer and was elected to the state Senate and U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, the most Democratic state in the nation.
We urge voters to support him in the Republican primary Tuesday.
