|been confirmed for The State Lunch! Be sure to register today!
Our first luncheon will feature a high-level on the Common Core State Standards will be held on February 5, 2015 at the Mayflower Hotel (1127 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington DC, 20036) at 12:00pm (ET).
Governor Jindal of Louisiana made education reform his top priority and pushed a bold plan to provide more choices for families, reward quality teachers, increase school accountability, and give school leaders more flexibility with funding and personnel. As a result of his reforms, Louisiana now has a statewide school choice scholarship program that gives parents the option to remove their children from a failing school and enroll them in a new school of their choice.
"Parents across the country are becoming increasingly concerned about what Common Core means for their children’s future and for the future of our great nation," American Principles Project's President Frank Cannon said. "Governor Bobby Jindal has become a strong spokesperson on this issue, which is why we invited him to address APP’s State Lunch. All presidential hopefuls should work to understand this issue and take a clear position on it. APP’s State Lunch will lay the foundation for the Common Core discussion and will lay out the political landscape for 2016."
The State Lunch will be followed by our 3rd Annual Red, White & Blue Gala featuring Texas Governor Rick Perry as our keynote speaker and Ali Landry as our master of ceremonies. The gala will also be held at the Mayflower with a reception at 6:30p (ET) and dinner at 7:30p (ET).
