NH DHHS - NH Commission on PTSD and TBI to Award Grants

$10,000 Veterans Grant to Serve  New Hampshire’s Institutions of Higher Education

The NH Legislative Commission on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), in partnership with and sponsorship from LTC Partners, is providing a $10,000 grant opportunity to New Hampshire’s institutions of higher education to support our State’s military population.

This Military or Veterans Impacting New Generations (MOVING) Experience will award three grants (one for $5,000 and two for $2,500 each) for innovative and inclusive proposals to enhance and support the educational and campus experience of veterans.

“These grants represent the impact that New Hampshire’s institutions of higher education have on our State’s veterans, service members and their families,” said Jo Moncher, Bureau Chief of Military Programs for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and Chair of the Commission on PTSD and TBI.  “The Commission is honored to partner with LTC Partners on this important initiative and look forward to working with New Hampshire’s institutions of higher education as we develop new programs to serve our State’s military.”

The initiative will follow the goals identified by the Commission: stigma reduction, military education, and military-civilian integrated care.

The application deadline is April 15, 2015, and award recipients will be announced on June 1, 2015.  Implementation of the grant award programs will take place July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.  The application and guidelines can be found on www.nh.gov/nhveterans
