NH DHHS - Cannabis Dispensary Meeting

NH DHHS Announces Date and Location of Forum to Solicit Public Input

Regarding Proposed Therapeutic Cannabis Dispensary in Dover

Concord, NH – On Monday, October 26, 2015, the New Hampshire Department of

Health and Human Services (DHHS) will hold a public forum, hosted by the

City of Dover, to discuss a proposed therapeutic cannabis dispensary in

Dover. Temescal Wellness, which was awarded Geographic Area 1 (including

Belknap, Rockingham, and Strafford Counties), has identified a proposed

location in Dover for its Alternative Treatment Center (ATC).

The public forum will be held on Monday, October 26 from 7:00–9:30pm in

Room 305 of the McConnell Center, 61 Locust Street, Dover, NH. The purpose

of the meeting is to solicit public input from Dover residents, qualifying

patients, and designated caregivers and other attendees about safety and

other local concerns and the overall health needs of qualifying patients.

Representatives from DHHS will discuss the implementation of the

Therapeutic Cannabis Program, and Temescal will discuss operational and

security plans for the proposed ATC. Following the presentations, attendees

will be encouraged to ask questions. Representatives from the City of Dover

are also expected to attend.

In May 2015, DHHS announced the selection of the ATCs that would begin the

post-selection registration process. DHHS has worked collaboratively with

the selected ATCs, as well as local governing bodies, to hold public input

forums in the towns and cities in which they would like to operate. Public

input forums have been held regarding proposed ATC dispensary sites in

Plymouth, Lebanon, and Merrimack and proposed ATC cultivation sites in

Peterborough, Manchester, and Rochester. For more information about the

Therapeutic Cannabis Program, please visit

Public notices for the forum will be posted on the City of Dover website at

http://www.dover.nh.gov/ and on the DHHS site at
