Senator Watters: “I commend Governor Hassan for calling on Republicans in the legislature to do the right thing and fully fund our local school districts"
Concord, N.H. – As Governor Maggie Hassan calls on the legislature to meet the state’s obligations and fully fund local school districts, Republican legislators are fighting against providing an adequate education for New Hampshire children.
While the Attorney General's has concluded that the legislature’s funding levels for certain school districts are not legally defensible moving forward, Republicans in the legislature continue to fight against full funding.
“I commend Governor Hassan for calling on Republicans in the legislature to do the right thing and fully fund our local school districts,” said State Senator David Watters. “This is a critical issue for communities across our state including Dover, and it is time for my Republican colleagues in the legislature to work with Governor Hassan to provide an adequate education for all New Hampshire children.”
