ALG calls for immediate moratorium on all Middle East refugees and immigration to the U.S.

Nov. 16, 2015, Fairfax,Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued thefollowing statement urging President Barack Obama to issue an immediatemoratorium on all Middle East refugees and immigration, in light of the fact that at least one of the Paris bombers was a Syrian warrefugee:

"President Obama, andevery sane leader in the West, needs to immediately issue a moratorium againstall refugees and immigration from the Middle East. Under U.S. law, the President singularly hasdiscretion to allow refugees in, and to refuse entry. Generally, under 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) thePresident can refuse entry to any class of immigrant for any amount of time hedeems appropriate. Thereare currently 16 such proclamations already in effect. It's time for number17.

"The fact is, even ifonly a tiny percentage of the Syrian war refugees were adherents to radicalIslam, every country that lets them in must accept they are also invitingsleeper cells into their country. And since there is no way to scan them at theborder, the only solution is to simply say no way. Not until this situation isunder control.

"As for immigration,Congress should immediately suspend the chain migration system, not as a partof any overall reform, but just stop it dead in its tracks. Visas are issued tothe relatives of U.S. citizens right now without any consideration of themerits of entry. The insanity at the border must be brought to an endimmediately, or the American people will seek new leadership who will bring itto an end. Enough pussy-footing around. It's time to get real."
