NHDP Statement on Municipal Election Results

MANCHESTER - After municipal elections in New Hampshire tonight, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Raymond Buckley made the following statement:
“The polls are closed and Granite Staters have voted and one thing is clear - Democrats did very well tonight. We are thrilled that Jim Donchess was elected Mayor of Nashua, a seat not held by a Democrat for twenty years. There is no doubt that Nashua is in great hands with a Mayor who will work tirelessly to drive economic development and bring good jobs to Nashua.”

“We always knew the Mayor’s race in Manchester would be tough, but we’re proud of Joyce Craig who has run an excellent campaign against an incumbent Mayor and we look forward to seeing the result of a recount. The fact that this race is so close in an off-year that favors Republicans makes it clear that 2016 is not looking good for Republicans.”

“Democrats are committed to finding solution and expanding opportunities for middle class families, from City Hall to the State House, and tonight’s wins are wins for Granite State families from Concord to Portsmouth, Berlin to Rochester.”
