Hours After Paris Terrorist Attacks, Obama Transfers Five Dangerous Guantanamo Bay Detainees
Concord – New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn today released the following statement calling on Governor Hassan to denounce President Obama’s dangerous transfer of five Guantanamo Bay detainees only hours after the Paris terrorist attacks:
“Only hours after the barbaric terrorist attacks in Paris, President Obama handed over five longtime Guantanamo Bay detainees accused of terrorism to the United Arab Emirates. This extreme, ideologically-motivated action ignores the dangerous reality that nearly a third of the terrorists released from Guantanamo Bay are either confirmed or suspected of reengaging in terrorism. Governor Hassan has signaled her willingness to march in lock step with President Obama in the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, and Granite Staters deserve to know if she naïvely supports the president’s terrorist transfer plan. The governor should immediately denounce this reckless program that endangers our troops abroad and our security at home.”
