...But in Election Cycle, Ayotte Tries to Run from Tea Party Record
Concord, N.H. – Kelly Ayotte can run but she can't hide from her Tea Party record. In reality, it was just two short years ago that Kelly Ayotte was right at home at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an annual gathering of prominent right wing activists, where Ayotte delivered the keynote address, throwing red meat to her base by pushing Tea Party conspiracy theories.
Now, as Ayotte enters re-election mode, she's trying to paper over her record and hoping New Hampshire voters forget her true colors.
“While Ayotte may not be attending CPAC again this year, it’s clear that she’s still working overtime to appeal to the extremists in her party as we saw over the past weeks with her repeated votes to play politics with DHS funding,” said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley.
“Kelly Ayotte will soon find out that skipping a conference won’t make Granite Staters forget that she has fought for the anti-middle class, far-right agenda ever since she was endorsed by Sarah Palin in the Republican primary,” added Buckley.
