NHDP Statement on Republicans' Fiscally Irresponsible Budget

Concord, N.H. – New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement after Senate President Chuck Morse admitted legislators were putting out-of-state corporations – and even presidential candidates – ahead of New Hampshire’s families and small businesses:
“It’s the height of irresponsibility for Republicans in the legislature to put out-of-state corporate special interests – and even Ted Cruz and Donald Trump – ahead of passing a fiscally responsible budget that will support New Hampshire’s families and small businesses.”
“Granite Staters are sick and tired of State House Republicans shamelessly putting special corporate interests ahead of Granite Staters, as they hold closed-door meetings with Koch Brothers operatives while refusing to listen to the priorities of New Hampshire’s small businesses and middle class families.”
“Governor Hassan is once again fighting for New Hampshire's people, businesses, and economy, and Granite Staters will continue to stand with Governor Hassan against Republicans’ unpaid-for big business tax giveaways that will blow a $90 million hole in the budget and lead to cuts to critical economic priorities like higher education, public safety, and maintaining our roads and bridges.”
