NH Sen Boutin applauds passage domestic violence funding increase

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Hassan signed legislation that increases funding for domestic violence prevention in New Hampshire by adding a $50 fine for persons convicted of domestic violence offences that will go to fund domestic violence prevention in the State of New Hampshire.

“I am thankful that  HB 681 has become law and that the legislature was able to come together in support of domestic violence prevention and awareness initiatives in the State of New Hampshire,” said Senator David Boutin (R-Hooksett).

“By requiring domestic violence offenders to pay an additional $50 fine, we are able to provide a new source of funding for grants and programs that go towards preventing abusive behavior and educational resources in the future,” added Boutin.
