NH Sen Forrester statement on Substance Abuse Director’s recommendations

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Hassan released the Substance Abuse Director’s recommendations for combating the state’s drug epidemic.

Senate Finance Chair Jeanie Forrester (R-Meredith) released the following statement regarding the recommendations.

“The Legislature has taken several important steps to address the crippling drug epidemic plaguing New Hampshire including the most important step of increasing state funding for substance abuse programs by 75% in the budget, which Governor Hassan chose to veto. Passing this budget would be the fastest and best way to respond to this crisis, and provide the resources to implement many of the Substance Abuse Director’s recommendations,” said Senate Finance Chair Jeanie Forrester (R-Meredith).
