NHDP Chair Responds to GOP Voters First Forum

CONCORD, N.H. - Following Monday’s Voters First Forum, Chairman Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“Here’s what we learned tonight. Nothing new.

Republicans want to raise the retirement age and phase out Medicare. Democrats know that New Hampshire - and America - can’t afford to go back on our promise to our seniors.

Republicans want to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which has helped thousands of Granite Staters afford health insurance. Democrats stand behind those new enrollees.

Republicans have left our workers behind. Democrats know those workers need a minimum wage increase.

Republicans don’t want to move forward on stopping climate change. Democrats know that we must preserve our land for future generations.

Republicans want to get in the way of women’s health care decisions. Democrats support women’s health.

Republican policies will leave behind seniors, the middle class, the environment, and women. Democrats support them. End of story.”
