Concord - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn released the following statement today on Senator Jeanne Shaheen endorsing efforts by the Democrat establishment to coronate Hillary Clinton as their Party's presidential nominee:
"Billy and Jeanne Shaheen have gone to great lengths in the past to support the Clintons - even intentionally trying to smear Barack Obama during the 2008 New Hampshire primary by implying that he was a drug dealer. Given the Shaheens' history of launching dishonest attacks on behalf on the Clintons, it's not surprising that they are rushing to help prop up her flailing coronation effort.
"The Shaheens have proven that they are willing to engage in dirty politics to support their endorsed candidates, and every Democrat presidential contender should be concerned about their efforts to rig the primary for Hillary Clinton."
"Last month, opposition researchers wearing 'New Hampshire for Jeanne Shaheen' shirts were caught sifting through the University of Vermont's special collections archives for information on Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Senator Shaheen's official endorsement of Hillary Clinton raises serious questions about why her supporters have already begun to target Bernie Sanders and what type of dishonest attacks they are planning this year."
"Sen. Hillary Clinton today accepted the resignation of her New Hampshire campaign co-chair a day after he suggested that Barack Obama's candor about his past drug use would open the door to Republican attacks."
