Two new polls show big trouble for New Hampshire Senator John Sununu,who trails former Governor Jeanne Shaheen by 28 points in a survey released by the American Research Group and is supported by only 31% of voters in another poll conducted by Suffolk University. In the ARG poll, Shaheen leads Sununu 57 to 29, winning 96 percent of Democrats surveyed, 30 percent of Republicans, and leading among undeclared voters by 25 points.
“John Sununu’s standing with New Hampshire voters has sunk into Bush territory,” said DSCC spokesman Matthew Miller. “His numbers have plummeted in the past few months, and even Republicans are now tired of his rubber stamp support for George Bush and his failed agenda and ready for change.”
New Independent Poll Shows Shaheen Up 57-29 Over Sununu. A new poll released this morning by the American Research Group shows former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen with a whopping 28-point lead over John Sununu in a potential Senate match-up. The same survey showed Shaheen up 44-34 in March. To make matters worse for Sununu, 30% of Republican voters say they would vote for Shaheen. [American Research Group, 6/28/07]
Suffolk University Poll Shows That Only 31% Of Granite Staters Want to Re-Elect Sununu. According to another new poll released yesterday by Suffolk University, only 31% of Granite Staters say Sununu deserves re-election, while 47% - including 25% of Republicans– say it is time for someone else.
