CONCORD – All systems are go for the September 5 “First in the Fall” Republican presidential candidates debate hosted by the University of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Republican Party.

FOX News will televise the debate live nationwide from UNH’s Whittemore Center from 9:00 – 10:30 p.m. on September 5. The Whittemore Center has the capacity for a live audience of more than 3,000 people.

CANDIDATES: Eight of the leading candidates have already confirmed their attendance at the debate and many have released statements indicating such.

MEDIA CREDENTIALLING: Members of the news media who wish to cover the debate are encouraged to fax a completed press credential request form to Erika Mantz, UNH Media Relations, at (603) 862-1188. The form is available at http://unh.edu/news/docs/2007/Press_Credential_Request_Form.doc

TICKETING: Is being coordinated by the NH Republican Party. Tickets are available at www.nhgop.org and questions should be directed to 603-225-9341.

“This debate comes just four months before the primary and at exactly the time when the universe of voters paying close attention to the campaign is expanding from mostly activists to include the broader electorate,” said Fergus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party. “This is only the second time all the Republican candidates will share the same stage, and offers the rare opportunity for New Hampshire Republicans to watch a debate live in person as millions of others watch on TV,” Cullen said.
