Manchester Democrats Elect New Chair

Christopher Pappas to Lead City Democrats

MANCHESTER – The Manchester City Democrats elected Christopher Pappas to serve as Chair, Thursday. He replaces Raymond Buckley, currently Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

Pappas, a former state legislator and long-time Democratic activist in Manchester is looking forward to his term as Chair. "I am thrilled by the support I received in becoming city chair and I look forward to helping Manchester pick the right path for its future in the city elections this fall," Pappas said.  "There is a stark contrast between the real results that Democrats have produced and the broken promises that the Republican mayor has given us.  Never has a mayor failed so abysmally in making good on his campaign promises, and the Democratic Party is ready to hold him accountable and expand its majorities on the Board of Alderman and School Board."

Buckley stepped down after nearly a decade of leadership of the Manchester City Democratic Committee. Regarding his successor, Buckley stated, "I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such a successful organization for nine and a half years, Chris Pappas will do even better. The future is bright for the Manchester Democratic Party."
