( Concord , NH ) The actions of New Hampshire Department of employees assigned to the New Hampshire State Prison Warehouse in Concord kept a co-worker alive.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on August 6, 2007 , Warehouse worker Randy Leslie collapsed on the job and no pulse was detected. Co-worker Mason O. Scammon notified the manager while Secretary Priscilla A. Wiltshire called 9-1-1 . Warehouse Superintendent Richard W. Martell performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Mr. Leslie while Stock Control Clerk Thomas E. Healy maintained the security of the warehouse. Concord Fire Department Emergency Medical Technicians arrived and were able to revive Mr. Leslie who was taken to Concord Hospital where he is recovering today.
Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn said, "This was a true team effort on the part of the warehouse staff and they are to be commended for looking out for the well being of a fellow employee."
This action came less than a week after Corrections Officer Roy Tripp revived a choking three-year old boy in the prison's visiting room.
